Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest got the loudest chorus of boos he has ever heard in his first game back in Indiana Friday night. The former Pacer, who was traded to the Kings in mid-January, went 6-22 for 18 points while the man he was traded for, Peja Stojakovic, put up 20 points with 12 boards… WE SHOULD BE CHEERING THIS MAN FOR LOGGING MORE MINUTES ON THE COURT THAN IN THE CROWD…

San Diego NCAA arena evacuated on bomb scare

Police evacuated a San Diego college arena on Thursday, hours before a first-round NCAA championship basketball game, after a bomb-sniffing dog signaled a potential problem at a hot dog stand.

Cox Arena at San Diego State University was cleared while police tried to determine if there was an explosive device in the hot dog stand, college spokesman Jack Beresford said. Explosive weiners! Osama should be proud!

Gooden violates parole

Former baseball star Dwight Gooden was arrested in Tampa Tuesday on charges of violating the terms of his probation.

The 41-year-old pleaded guilty in November to speeding away from police after a DUI traffic stop in August 2005 and was sentenced to three years probation.

On Tuesday he went to a regular meeting with a probation officer, where he admitted to using cocaine, according to Jo Ellyn Rackleff, a spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections. *sniff sniff; smack!  Maybe his $0.05 rookie card will increase in value?

US dog sled racer wins Iditarod for fourth time

Veteran musher Jeff King drove his dog team into the Bering Sea town of Nome on Wednesday to capture the 1,100-mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, the world’s premier dog-sled event, for the fourth time.King, of Denali, Alaska, finished the race in nine days, 11 hours, 11 minutes and 36 seconds, leaving him almost three hours ahead of his closest competitor, four-time winner Doug Swingley of Montana.

Brutal attack on football fans

An eye-witness today gave a terrifying account of how Middlesbrough fans were attacked ahead of tonight’s crunch Uefa Cup match in Rome.

British police travelling with the supporters for the match against Roma appealed for calm after the violence, which left 13 visiting fans injured, including three stabbed.

“At around 11.30pm a small group of Ultra fans wearing black and ski masks arrived in the square.

“They were armed with knives and bats and started throwing missiles and hitting the English fans.

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings traded their franchise quarterback Daunte Culpepper to the Miami Dolphins for a second-round draft pick in this year’s draft. This comes one year after the Vikes traded away their star receiver Randy Moss to Oakland for a first round pick and LB Napoleon Harris. The field of 65 teams was announced today, with the four #1 seeds being Duke, Connecticut, Villanova and Memphis. Fan Who Attacked Coach In 2002 Gets Prison Sentence…

William Ligue Jr., best known for running out of the crowd with his 15 year old son in 2002 and attacking the Kansas City Royals first base coach during a game against the White Sox, was sentenced to almost 5 years in prison for a probation violation. Ligue was charged with breaking into a car and leading the police on a short chase in April 2004. AHHH, THIS IS JUSTICE AT ITS BEST…NOW HE CAN SEE WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE ATTACKED FROM BEHIND…

Free Agency Kicks Off…

The NFL Free Agency started off Saturday and many teams are already making many signings in the first 24 hours. One of the more active teams on the first day have been the Vikings who signed kicker Ryan Longwell, running back Chester Taylor and linebacker Ben Leber.
